BSG Traven
2007 Black and White Gypsy Vanner Stallion
Sire: BSG Taliesin
Dam: BSG Aisling
|
Tray's arrival at CornerStone Drums was the result of
an extended search for just the right breeding stallion.
We were looking for a tall, refined gypsy stallion to use
as a foundation for our drum horses. We wanted a stallion that
is built uphill, with good use of his hind end, good neck
length, and a small, pretty head.
Tray is all of these things and more.
|
Tray is a young stallion sired by the amazing BSG Taliesin. He came to us courtesy of
Big Sky Gypsies,
who still own his full sister BSG Tara, as well as Tray's sire and dam.
|
Tray is the perfect gypsy to produce outstanding
Drum Horses. His long legs and uphill build
offer a level of athleticism that most of the shorter,
stockier gypsies can't provide. His short back and long
neck perfectly compliment the Clydesdale and Shire mares
that he will be bred to. His small, pretty head offers
a more refined look to his offspring.
All in all, when bred to a draft mare, Tray will produce
a perfect larger yet balanced sport horse.

|
To add to his perfect conformation, Tray also brings color to the mix. He is homozygous
for the tobiano gene, meaning all of his offspring will be tobiano patterned.
We believe he is homozygous for black, though we will have him DNA tested to confirm.
Tray also carries the sabino gene, which can cause roaning, creating some very interesting and
beautiful coloring.
|
Tray will be breeding a small, select group of mares in 2010.
He will be available to a limited number of outside mares.
